We are thrilled to introduce you to our newest addition to the Madawaska Police Department family, K9 Luka! At just 5 months old, Luka is already showing immense promise and motivation to begin his important work alongside his dedicated handler, Officer Seth Querze.

Starting this June, Luka and Officer Querze will embark on an intensive training program at the prestigious AllPoints K9 Training School. Over the course of several months, Luka will undergo rigorous training, including 320 hours of drug detection and 280 hours of tracking. With dedication and hard work, we are confident that Luka will excel in his training and become an invaluable asset to our community.

Deputy Ryan Johnston and K-9 Kimber met with a special visitor this week. Jodi Cyr with Spruce Valley German Shepherds in St Agatha met with Deputy Johnston and donated $520 towards the K-9 program. Jodi was also kind enough to bring K-9 Kimber new toys, which Kimber enjoyed destroying! Jodi donated Kimber to our K-9 program in 2019. Jodi, we appreciate your kindness and your support!
